The significance of life is to share with others where we can.

About Us

The Good-Will Charitable Services (GWCS) is a scheme based on community support focusing on food parcel distribution in informal settlement areas in Windhoek, orphanages, and soup kitchens. Founded by Professor Eugene Madejski and group of five women in 2020, the initiative is formed with as purpose of assisting people in informal settlements of Katutura who are struggling to make ends meet, orphanages, vulnerable households, and soup kitchens by means of providing food parcels that mainly consist of basic daily food items. During his stay in Namibia between the year 2013 to 2017, Prof. Madejski worked with marginalized people, orphanages, and San people in Windhoek and upcountry. The initiative has been and/or remains under his sponsorship for the past three years and assistance from local sponsor occasionally. In the last three years, the initiative has achieved the goals of delivering food parcels to informal settlements in Katutura, areas such as Havana, Goreagab, Okahandja Park, Kilimanjaro, Oshitenda (one nation), outside Windhoek (Dordabis). Furthermore, a few orphanages and soup kitchens continue to benefit through receiving of food items and sanitary goods.

The GWCS is made up of six dedicated volunteers who are on the front runners of the initiative. To ensure that the food parcels reach the needy. The GWCS team works together with community leaders from the respective informal settlements, who in return identify less fortunate individuals.

Vision

To create a platform for vulnerable communities, orphanages and soup kitchens that enable them to receive food and opportunities to share their distress and how they can grow out of it. Be a platform that offers charitable deeds focusing on food assistance, self-sufficient guidance, and contemporary life issues guidance for children in orphanages and soup kitchens that caters for the homeless people.

Mission

We opt to nurture wellbeing and share nourishments with those who cannot afford what others can and continue to be their hope lenders. To source financial and non-financial support and provide food parcels, sanitary items, and sustainable food training programs to the most vulnerable people in informal settlements, orphanages, and soup kitchens. Access to adequate nourishment is critical for every family; thus, the project aims to make a difference for homeless people, orphanages, and soup kitchens in Windhoek and beyond.
